investigation Reflection 60% of your grade

These last two weeks you have worked on your investigation process. Reflect and rate yourself using the rubric PLUS copy your response to QUIA.. Post with the subject INVESTIGATION REFLECTION. When you are finished continue with your 3 brainstorming designs.
0 You did not reach a standard described by any of the descriptors given below.
1–2 (60 / 70)You stated the problem.
You investigated the problem, collecting information from few sources.
You listed some specification points.
3–4 (75 / 85) You described the problem, mentioning its relevance.
You investigated the problem, selecting and analysing information from some acknowledged sources.
You described a test to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification.
5–6 (95 / 100) You explained the problem, discussing its relevance.
You critically investigated the problem, evaluating information from a broad range of appropriate, acknowledged sources.
You described detailed methods for appropriate testing to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification.

10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.  i am making a animated drawing to show the six graders about the design cycle
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?  to have simplicity , size of font ,details of design cycle.

12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment? the limitations are to do at least 3 paragraphs
13. How will you "test" your project? to see i all the audiance understand what i meant with my presantation.

neatness  |  16

size of font  |  18

theme  |  10

i gave neatness a 16 because i think that my projecthas to be neat. when a project is neat it is way more readable and the audiance will understand what you are trying to say.neatness is important because some six graders cant read very well and if the presintation is not neatand readable they wont understand it.

i gave the size of font a18 because the letters should be big enough for the whole audiance to see the presitation. i think that the size of the font is very important because the audiance should be able to see the presintation. if the size of the font is to small and the audiance cant see it the presintation will not be very well preformed and designed.

the theme is very important. i gave the theme a 10 because the theme is an esatial thing on a sucessful presitation. it helps you to have a good structure of whatever you aretalking about.

music  |  12
simplicity |  16
flipbook  |  26
score  |  54

i gave music a12 because i think that it will help the sixth graders learn more and be more interesting to them. they will be able to hear and see the design cycle. the music that i will use will catch the attention of the sixth graders.

i gave simplicity a 16 because if the project is simple the sixth graders learn more easily. when the presentation is easy not only does it help to explain better but i is easier to make or build.i think that if you use simplicity on your project it will help a lot.

i gave flip book a 26 because i am going to use flip book  for my project i will make a comic book or an animated drawing of the design cycle. i will create the drawing that will teach six graders about the design cycle.

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve? Explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. (3d, PPT, movie, game, Poster)
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world?
3. How will this project serve my community?
4. How can my learning help my community?
5. How do we live in relation to each other?
6. How does this help others?
7. What are the requirements for this assignment?
8. What is the Design Cycle?
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.
story board.pdf found in schoology under “materials” & then files.
18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
REFLECT on your learning
EVALUATE:
20. How could you improve your presentation?
21. Does your presentation meet all of the requirements?
22. Share your presentation with at least 2-8th, 3-9th, 4-10th+ friends. What did he/she like about your presentation?
23. Reflect on all the steps of the Design Cycle. What did you do well? What do you need to improve?
24. Were you responsible in using the software, Internet, pictures, and computer?
25. How can my learning help my community?
26. What grade do you deserve on this project? (1 - 6)

ATTITUDE:
27. Reflect on your attitude on each step of the Design Cycle. Did you completely answer each step without complaining, being a whiny baby, or saying "it's too hard". Explain your answer:
28. What grade do you deserve on your attitude? (1 - 6)
